Restaurant Solen
YLLW had the honour of contributing to the creation of Restaurang Solen, one of Stockholm's most talked about food and culture ventures in 2023, located in a cultural-historical industrial venue in the Slakthus area.
Working closely with the design studio Specific Generic, YLLW was responsible for the manufacture and supply of both loose and fixed furnishings, including custom-designed furniture, lighting design, as well as the installation of two fireplaces and unique fixtures.
The project required great fingertip feel to preserve the industrial character of the venue while creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. The result is a dynamic environment where round tables revolve around the fire, and where every detail — from the choice of materials to the colour scheme — enhances the experience of a place to gather around. Restaurant Solen has been praised for its unique design and was nominated for the Gold Chair 2023 by Sveriges Arkitekter. The jury described the production as “friendly, inviting and based on the food served, a mix of dishes from sun-drenched places around the world”.
